Boise State's New Uniforms Crush The Competition!

Wow! That's all I've got to say. I absolutely love the new black uniforms! A lot of schools with basic traditional uniforms these days have been trying to draw in recruits with new flashy uniforms (who cares about tradition right), while some have succeeded like Oregon, Michigan State, and Rutgers others have miserably failed like Notre Dame and Northwestern. Check out SB Nation to see for yourself.

However, Boise State takes the cake! These black, intimidating uniforms make me want to go suit up for Boise! While the actual uniform is great, the helmet is what really catches my eye. The powder black base with the silver bronco, finished with a red eye is brilliant! You can get a first hand look at these bad boys live October 20 when Boise takes on UNLV.

How can you not love this?!

Let me know your thoughts on the new uniforms and if you agree that they are the best "new" uniforms in college football these days. As always, feel free to let me know your thoughts in the comments below, or simply tweet me @zrojones!

A Look Into Your 2012-13 Detroit Pistons

While we get ready to kick off the 2012-13 NBA season, I thought I'd take a shot at predicting the Pistons final 12 man roster, along with some stats, final record, and try to hit on some key points. Let the games begin! We will start with who I believe will be the Pistons starting five, with the addition some projected stats.

PG- Brandon Knight: 14 ppg 5.5 ast 1.3 stl 2.4 reb

SG- Rodney Stuckey: 16.3 ppg 3.4 ast 1.0 stl 2.8 reb

SF- Cory Maggette: 15.8 ppg 1.1 ast 0.6 stl 3.7 reb

PF- Greg Monroe: 19 ppg 3 ast 1.4 stl 10 reb 0.7 blk

C- Andre Drummond: 8.9 ppg 1.1 stl 11 reb 2.1 blk

The Pistons acquired Maggette this summer after sending Ben
Gordon to the Bobcats.

Do I believe Drummond will start this year for the Pistons? Obviously, he's had a great pre-season, almost too good, which worries me somehow. However, like most rookies, he will have to work his way up to that spot. I'm guessing he'll become the full time starter somewhere around the 40th game.

The addition of Cory Maggette adds a much needed scoring punch while he kicks the Prince to the bench. I can't describe how much of an improvement this is over the often streaky Ben Gordon. Monroe, Knight, and Stuckey are locks into this starting five, all of whom seemed to gel really nicely together towards the end of last season.

Onto the bench! This is where it gets really tough. Between draft picks and veterans, someone has to either be cut, reserved or get sent down to the developmental league. And our Pistons have been busy adding talent to a weak bench from 2011-12. And the cards are in, your final seven roster spots go to...

SF Tayshaun Prince. The long time Piston loses his starting spot, but will make a big impact in his new role as 6th man.

SF/PF Jonas Jerebko. With his hustle and ability to play two positions the Pistons are short on, Jonas contributes nicely as a spot starter and energy bolt off the bench.

Kravtsov agreed to sign a multi-year contract this July
C Viacheslav Kravtsov. A lot of us are still uncertain how he is on offense, but one thing is for sure, with his big body and crazy athleticism, he can block shots, grab rebounds, and throw that large 6-11 frame down on opposing big men.

PF Charlie Villanueva. I once tweeted I would trade CV for a bag of basketballs to any team willing to take his contract. Not much has changed. But his scoring ability and contract gets him a spot on the roster. Nevermind that he's softer than a box of kittens.

SF Kyle Singler. After having a great season over-seas, Singler was one of the few players who really benefited from the lockout and is ready for his first NBA season.

PG Will Bynum. He knows the system, and is the only real option to play behind Knight outside of Stuckey moving over to the point.

G Kim English. He can play the one, two, and three if needed. I believe his versatility gets him on the roster.

Now, for the guys who wont be so happy come the October 31st opener. We'll start with Khris Middleton. I actually really like this guy, in-fact, I think he can oust Singler if he finishes the pre-season on a strong note. Middleton is expendable though, as the Pistons would likely send him down to the developmental league.

Notice any names not on my 12 man roster? You might because Austin Daye and Jason Maxiell are not on it. I personally have given up on both. Daye has somehow gotten worse, and Maxiell can no longer skate by on being a big body. Maxiell is a guy I think the Pistons coaches like, and that might be the only thing that saves him from being reserved.

And finally, the two newest Pistons Terrence Williams and Jonny Flynn. Both high draft picks in 2009 never really found their way in the league. Unfortunately that doesn't change this year either. Perhaps Williams can sneak onto the team at some point for his scoring ability, but Flynn just makes no sense, he's a less talented version of Will Bynum.

So I guess there's only one thing left to do, predict the record! For me, after watching how the team played towards the end of last season, I feel really good about the Pistons making the playoffs, yes the Pistons WILL make the playoffs. With that said, the Pistons finish 42-40, and sneak into the 8th seed.
